Brittan Williams Wood is a State Accreditation Coordinator for the North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation program. North Carolina is undertaking an initiative to implement a mandatory standards-based system for accrediting local public health departments throughout the state.  The North Carolina Institute for Public Health provides staff support to the Accreditation Board for this state-wide initiative.  As State Accreditation Site Visit Coordinator, Ms. Wood is responsible for a broad range of duties related to the planning, organization, marketing and implementation of local public health department accreditation.

Previously, Brittan was the Health Education Program Manager with the Rockingham County Department of Public Health where she played an integral part in their local health department accreditation process.

Brittan earned a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education and a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC).

Brittan also has experience at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she has taught the Introduction to Public Health course to undergraduate junior year students.
