New Mexico becomes first state to introduce bill as part of Good Samaritan Liability Initiative

January 17, 2007

New Mexico State Senator Steve Komadina introduced Senate Bill 16 in the New Mexico Legislature related to civil emergency preparedness. The bill extends liability coverage to "A person, including the person's officers, directors, employees, and agents when applicable, who voluntarily and without the expectation of receipt of compensation provides goods or services to another person in response to an order issued by the governor declaring a disaster or emergency...."
